EMDR

EMDR is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Scientific research has established

that EMDR is effective in treating post-traumatic stress.

When a person is distressed or traumatized, their brain is unable to process information as it does ordinarily. EMDR does not take away the traumatic experience but it does decrease the

intensity of the images, sounds and feelings associated with the distress or trauma.

Some topics commonly addressed with EMDR:

-Trauma

-Panic attacks and disorders

-Complicated Grief

-Depression

-Sexual and Physical Abuse

-Stress Reduction

-Phobias

-Body Dysmorphic Disorders

-Personality Disorders
